Acts 2:40 says, “Save yourself from this untoward generation.” This is a continual process of saving ourself. You may ask, “How can I save myself?” Well, to save yourself, you must realize that God sent his son, Jesus, to die on the cross for you that you can be saved. He shed his blood for your sins. When you repent, you have a change of mind that you want to live different, you want a more happy life, and the only way to be happy is to give yourself to the Lord. They sing the song, “I give myself away, I give myself away so you can use me.” THAT’S WHAT MUST HAPPEN! To save yourself, you must give yourself to God all the way! That’s the only way to save yourself, is to give yourself away! Giving yourself away requires denial of your wants and we are spoiled brats about having our way, but to be saved we must say, “I am yours Lord, everything I got, everything I am, and everything I am not. Take all of me.” Paul said, “In my flesh is no good thing, but now the spirit is life.” So to get in the spirit, we need to repent, get cleaned up through baptism, and receive the Holy Ghost. When we receive the Holy Ghost, we now have to tell the flesh to back up and to shut up. When we tell flesh to shut up and we listen to the spirit, we our saving ourself. Thank god for the Holy Ghost that will lead us and guide us in life! Pastor Ricky Taylor
